Christianity focuses on Jesus Christ and His unfailing love. However, in earlier “religions”, such as in Greece, we see people having to make constant sacrifices in order to please the gods; whereas, in Christianity, Jesus gave himself up for the people of this world. We don’t see this in any other religion. 

The Iliad and The Odyssey were written by Homer in about 750 B.C. Homer’s works were very important to the Greeks’ religion and they give us a good glimpse of how the Greeks envisioned the gods.
